Manufacturing Process

The AquaArmour™ modules are manufactured using injection moulding of high density polyethylene (HDPE).

Injection Moulding Tool

The injection moulding tool was designed, developed and manufactured by Shapers’ Zimmermann, Germany, who is renowned as a market leader in this field. The tool is the largest injection moulding tool in the world!

• Initial production began on May 18th 2010
• Delivery to Australia occurred in September 2010
• Weight 25 tonnes
• Tool Dimensions 1,400 mm x 1,580 mm x 990 mm
• Made from highest quality hardened tool steel
• Is the largest thin wall injection mould designed for medium flow HDPE in the world
• Utilises a seven point sequentially gated hot runner system from Runipsys France

Australian Manufacturing

The AquaArmour™ modules are being manufactured by Venture DMG in Campbellfield, Victoria, Australia. Venture DMG are a large international plastics manufacturer.

Transportation

On completion of manufacturing, the AquaArmour™ shells are stacked onto pallets, and transported directly to the deployment site where they are assembled on site.
